Sometimes great things happen! We are delighted to announce that Toon Boom Animation is sponsoring the TAAFI 2012 session with John Kricfalusi: Cartoony Animation.

For those of you who don’t know who John K is..where have you been?!… John K. is the moniker for John Kricfalusi (from Chicoutimi, Quebec, Canada) animation and cartoon genius behind such gems as Nikelodeon’s The Ren & Stimpy Show; a made-for-web cartoon series The Goddamn George Liquour Program; Weekend Pussy Hunt; Fox Kids The Ripping Yarns. He has even directed a video for the song  I Miss You by Icelandic songstress Bjork song.

Recently, his work was seen in the opening sequence of the animation classic The Simpsons, episode, “Bart Stops to Smell the Roosevelts (Season 23, episode 2). You can watch the opening sequence here

The session at TAAFI is called Cartoony Animation and will cover the cartoons and artists who inspired him to create his memorable characters. Find out how he learned from the masters during his time at Hanna Barbera through to his latest ventures and his influence on the animation industry in general.
