Toon Boom Animation hosts visit from Singapore’s ITE – Institute of Technical Education


Recently, Toon Boom was privileged to host a visit of senior delegates of Singapore’s prestigious ITE (Institute of Technical Education).

Visiting us were; Dr. YekTiew Ming, Principal of ITE; Mr. Bruce Poh Geok Huat, Director and CEO of ITE; Ms.Sabrina Loi, Deputy CEO (Corporate) ; Mr. Callistus Chong Teck Meng, Director School of Design and Media.

ITE’s alliance with Toon Boom Animation Inc.  started in June 2006. This was followed by the official opening of the ITE-Toon Boom Centre of Excellence in New Media on 2 Apr 2007, at ITE College Central (MacPherson Campus).

The Centre enables lecturers and students to embark on research development projects with Toon Boom using software. The collaboration includes Joint Certification for ITE students who have undergone training in Toon Boom software.

The Institute of Technical Education (ITE), Singapore, was established as a post-secondary education institution in 1992 under the Ministry of Education. ITE is a principal provider of career and technical education and key developer of national occupational skills certification and standards to enhance Singapore’s workforce competitiveness. Under its “One ITE System, Three Colleges” Model of Education and Governance, ITE has three Colleges, comprising ITE College Central, ITE College East and ITE College West. ITE’s Mission is “To Create Opportunities for School Leavers and Adult Learners to Acquire Skills, Knowledge and Values for Employability and Lifelong Learning in a Global Economy.”

The video shows a virtual tour of the new ITE College Central in Ang Mo Kio in Singapore. It is due to open in 2013.

Toon Boom was awarded the ITE 20th Anniversary – Distinguished Partners Award 2012 in April of this year.
